The Schomberg Center for Research in Black Culture in Harlem is one of the world’s leading cultural institutions devoted to the research, preservation, and exhibition of materials focused on African American, African Diaspora, and African experiences. As a research division of The New York Public Library, the Schomburg Center features diverse programming and collections spanning over 11 million items that illuminate the richness of global Black history, arts, and culture.

The Schomburg Center is celebrating its centennial anniversary! To celebrate this momentous occasion, we are raising funds to ensure it remains the intellectual and cultural heart of the Black community.
A generous donor is matching all gifts up to $50,000 to celebrate the Schomburg Center’s 100th anniversary. When you give $100 today, it becomes $200. If you believe in the importance of the Schomburg, please help sustain it.
